Ecchi Food and TakoLuka

Can food be ecchi? Well I'm sure there's that kind of fetish somewhere, but I'm not talking that kind of "ecchi food". I'm talking about the pleasure kind of ecchi, y'know, like you know it's good, but you shouldn't do it all the time. Well this is that kind of food... The KFC Double Down. Two pieces of bacon and cheese sandwiched between two pieces of breaded boneless chicken slathered with spicy mayonnaise. Delicious? Kinda. Good for you? HELL NO!

Just so you know... the top half of this post contains food. Probably not the kind you'd eat, but it's still food, so if you're hungry then I'd say proceed at your own risk or skip to the last half of the post.

TakoLuka gets ready to Double Down!

Yes, Double Down, the term from BlackJack or gambling... You're basically gambling with your health once you buy this XD For me, I'm a curious person, so I feel like trying out new things. Too many people talking about this, so the curiosity got the best of me. I think this is one of the reasons why I went down south of the border today ^^;

And the verdict? Well for one thing, I didn't eat it like a sandwich nor did I eat it by myself. I went with my mom and dad and we shared one by cutting it up. It was very, very salty. It tasted like their original recipe chicken actually. The spicy mayonnaise gives it a little bit of a kick (probably because I can't handle spicy food that well). The cheese and bacon was almost lost in the taste of the two big pieces of chicken.

This is the interior view, lol. I think the yellow part is the mayonnaise, white part is the cheese and the bacon is shoved to one side of the chicken "buns". Thick chicken! We were full after lunch at Costco, so we were fuller after eating just 1/3 of this (per person). We brought one home just for the hell of it. Maybe my brother wants it (even though he said he's trying to lose weight :P).

It was surprisingly hard to find KFC in Bellingham (the closest major city to Vancouver). We finally found it though. The restaurant was combined with an A&W... How weird... Lots of interesting things on the menu that we don't see in Vancouver KFC.

So since I was in Bellingham, I thought I'd give some of my favourite stores a visit; Hot Topic, FYE, Costco, Best Buy and GameStop.

There was nothing to get at FYE, especially since the prices for everything was pretty much the same as it is in Canada. But I did find this copy of Persona 4 for $20. Unfortunately it was the last one and it was an opened, but new, copy. The manual was slightly wrecked, but the rest were there and new. The clerk were quite nice and determined to find the discs that were placed separately... They gave me that card beside P4 to try out... Dunno if I'll get around to it though.

Hancock Blu-Ray was purchased at Costco for $12.99. Best Buy had it for $24.99. Yep, I'm glad with my purchase. I wanted to see this when it came out in theatres, but never got the chance.

AAAHHHH! TakoLuka! What are you doing to Will Smith!?!

Oh, I forgot there was a Target there too. They usually have some good cheap graphic tee, like the one above. My Star Wars geekery is showing... I can't help it, two freaking X-Wings, man! That's a MUST GET T-shirt!

Awww! How cute... TakoLuka wants to be an astromech droid like R2-D2.

And finally, this Marvel vs Capcom 2 shirt came from Hot Topic. When I first seen what it is, it was a must get as well! Two of my favourite things on one shirt! There was an Iron Man 2 t-shirt I wanted to get as well, but I didn't want to go overboard since there's a limit to how much you can spend before getting taxed back when we cross the border again.

Yaaarrgh! TakoLuka!!! What are you doing!? That's Chun-Li for goodness sake!

Ah... you'd better be careful with Morrigan... She's a succubus after all. Not to mention you're sitting on top of War Machine.......

Are you insane, TakoLuka!? That's Psylocke! She's one of the strongest psychic in the world!

OKAY... That's it folks... once she goes for underage Jubilee, we're pretty much done here... SHOW'S OVER! NOTHING TO SEE HERE!

  2. what are you talking about? The show's just beginning!

    How come you have more than one Takoluka face, btw? Mine only has just the one face.

    Probably gonna end up trying that titty-fuck sandwich very soon.

  3. @jovee: It's ok. Double Down just came into the market in the US only (not even in Canada yet). And it seems like an invention of America too. I mean do you eat a sandwich using 2 pieces of chicken as buns? XD

    @radiant: Hahaha, you're right, but I had to stop TakoLuka before she goes after all the other lolis in the shirt XD

    Ooooh... here's challenge for you then. Care to guess whose face that is I use on TakoLuka? Cookies to those who guess right :D

    That's a very interesting description of the "sandwich"... Yet, so very fitting. Except the center is a limp bacon.

  4. Double Down sure looks nice despite looking very unhealthy to eat at the same time... I guess that's the thing with fastfood in general ^^;

    And TakoLuka going over everything she sees lol...

  5. Gawdamnit KFC and Damn you Colonel, making me eat your fatty s#it, while you steal my money, and I actually still like you for that!

  6. Yes, P4! You've just made the smartest purchase of your life! Man, will you be getting to know the Velvet Room, really well. Seriously, they just don't make JRPGs like they used to.

    I don't think ecchi applies to food like that, but... Man, that there looks like it'd give you an immediate heart attack. Myocardial infarction.

    Uh-uh, not my Psylocke, mollusk! Though I'd be fine with letting her sit on my face. It'd be an enriching experience.

  8. @Q: Exactly! That's what fast food is all about! A crazy combination of unhealthy food in one package! TakoLuka's got busy busy tentacles ^^

    @chun: Ecchi TakoLuka :3

    @GunStray: Irresistable, eh? Target is in Bellis Fair mall in Bellingham.

    @Tim: Haha well it was your recommendation after all. So when I saw P4 in the bargain bin, I thought I'd pick it up. Good thing the guy actually found it.

    Haha I know it's not the right way to describe food, but it's something like that. It's food porn, right? :P It's not really that bad if you break it down. It's like a two piece meal, with extra cheese and bacon.

    Sorry, but Psylocke is now TakoLuka's b**ch. TakoLuka sits on your face while she uses her tentacles on Psylocke? Just as I thought... I knew I'd get a reaction out of you if I did that to Psylocke :P

    @Delon: You going to the U.S. of A tomorrow? It's only available in the US atm.

  11. hmmm I wasn't even aware that nendoroid puchi faces would fit in the takoluka. I'm guessing that's where it's from - and it looks like it's specifically from the vocaloid puchi set.

  12. Man the fact that you THINK the white stuff might be the mayonaise gave me some very,very disturbing thoughts about that white gooey substance on your chicken ^^;;;;;;;;

    I dont find the whole thing not appealing at ll from the visual department astleast

  13. Double Down? why not just call it Apoplexy Chicken, it would be more honest. I swear the food industry with their attempts of choking us with their fatty, short-term-good-feeling food is getting on my nerves.

    Takoluka you tentacle grape molester lol XD I haven't heard many songs by her. I should keep up with the vocaloid part of my hobbies too.

  14. @Radiant: Yep, it's from the Vocaloid puchi set, but I think any puchi nendo will fit in to TakoLuka :D

    @Blowfish: I wasn't even implying that, lol. Did I fall behind in the Ecchi Quotient? XD Visually it is in the eye of the beholder then. It just looks like fried chicken to me, except it's laced with bacon and cheese.

    @Yaku: I'm sure you can't sell it if it's called that XD Marketing, baby, MARKETING! But yeah, really, I'm sure there are lots more like these things in the US than in Canada. We only get to hear it in commercials from US channels and hardly try it.

    There aren't too many TakoLuka songs (that I know of) but there is this other one called TakoLuka Maguro Fever.
