A big thank you to Kodomut for sending this small but wonderful package to Vancouver. I actually received this 2 weeks ago, but I couldn't find the time to take pictures until now. I was surprised when Kodomut sent a message asking for my address... Stalking! LoL, just kidding. I did find out that he was going to send me his cards, but I thought it was just the cards, but I got more than that!

Gokigenyou! As some of you may have seen on Figure.FM, this picture drawn by Yakuri_Moe got lots of attention in the 100th Weekly Lily. It's got quite a story behind it actually.

Yuri Mania 35: Mugi Vision

Gokigenyou minna. As you can see above it's Mugi... And you know how it is when Mugi has that look in her eyes. Well the point of this post is to celebrate the 100th Weekly Lily in Figure.fm. The premise actually came about when I asked around what I should do for it... My comrade at arms (and Mugi's waifu), Yakuri_Moe, suggested  something to do with Mugi Vision. I liked that idea and worked it in my head and well... You know how it is in my head; it will not be clean at all ^^;

So let's put that in The Melancholy of Saber Lily 4koma and see what happens ;P I didn't just make one, nor two but FIVE 4koma! ENJOY! Oh and this post shouldn't be looked at if you're at work...

The Melancholy of Saber Lily Special

An extra special episode of The Melancholy of Saber Lily! Gotta give Blowfish the credit for this idea. His comment on Yuri Mania 7 gave me quite a brainstorm!

The above picture was my attempt to edit Saber Lily so that it looks like she's using the computer. I'm running out of time to make it, so I just left it as is. It doesn't look as good as I'd hoped... She's browsing all my Weekly Lily posts to get an idea. She forced me to browse through Gelbooru to find specific pictures, but there were thousands of them!

The Melancholy of Saber Lily Special

Seems like there's a reference to something in every panel! Did you guess what song is being sung in the first panel? I figured since everyone was posting about K-ON! I might as well make a reference to it. For those not in the know:



Did you see the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya novel in the second panel? I don't blame you if you didn't notice it since they really messed up with the cover there. They're using the original art for the hardcover while they're using this ugly dreck for the paperback cover! WTF!

Major edits in the 3rd and 4th panel... I took a picture of the bathroom and added Saber in there. I was messing around with the lighting effects in Photoshop a bit too much though, so it doesn't look too natural in there anymore. Oh like the 1/1 scale reference that I did there? XD

And the last post I had to ask my brother to take the picture since I'm... buried... Had to take a few photos because I wasn't specific enough on what I was looking for, but he went above and beyond and got me this nice angle. Oh noticed the Rumiko Takahashi-esque hand gesture? ^^

So hopefully I'll be able to continue with the regular story for next week... as long as Saber Lily didn't beat me up too much...

Yuri Mania 8

Gokigenyou readers! Welcome to another session of Yuri Mania! This week I finished Maria-sama ga Miteru 4th season... Awww what a touching ending. It's kinda what you see in the above picture... ok fine those two didn't really kiss, but still hugging. It's a spoiler perhaps, but after you watched the whole season you see it coming.

I also finished Maria-sama ga Miteru 3rd season OVA. No, you didn't read it wrong. I watched the end of 4th season before I even watched most of the 3rd season... Safe to say I mixed up a lot of the timelines as I was watching both of them at the same time. This is also old news, but if you haven't heard, Nozomi/Right Stuf has picked up the license for the 4th season. So now I can't wait for the DVD specials that they always have in it. I just realized I reviewed first season of MariMite but didn't continue... Guess that's something I ought to do next week...

ANYHOW... This is also an excuse to post...

The Melancholy of Saber Lily Part 12

Last time Saber Lily found out that Haruhi has a freaking tentacle monster for a summon! And well you can sorta imagine what happens when a tentacle monster shows up...

Ah two parts in a row that I couldn't figure out a title for the comic... I had to borrow from a brand of soda. Yes, there is an actual soda called "Tentacle Grape". Look it up!

I was mildly annoyed that the tentacle was rubbing paint all over my Saber Lily figma. I hope it's removable. It's minor, but still noticable. Panel 3B was also a pain to make. I know what I wanted to do, but I guess I didn't envision how it looks because Haruhi and Saber's picture were taken separately. I took them both yesterday, then as I was making it in Photoshop, it didn't match! ARRGGH! So I had to reshoot for Haruhi's part... I also modified Saber's eyes to match the shock, though it didn't look as good as I'd hope. Anyway, the MariMite picture is a better example of what I was trying to achieve in panel 3B.

The Melancholy of Saber Lily Part 11

Here comes another installation of Saber Lily vs Chouyusha Haruhi! I think it's pretty much self-explanatory. I actually took photos for the first two panels weeks ago and didn't take the last two until today. I also took more photos for part 12 which I will post tomorrow (hopefully).

When I opened the box to the new cast of characters for this comic, it was sticky and oily! Gross!

Anyway, I made 3 versions of this part. An animated version, the normal version and an alternate ending. Let me know which one you like best!

The original ending

The animated edition. Just simple animation just to show some effects.

The alternate ending. I think Saber Lily is about to say "What the fudge" in the 3rd panel. And she's pointing at you, you sick and twisted dollar sign, percent sign, at symbol, and number symbol.

In case you're wondering, "Inju" seems to be the word most associated with tentacle monsters in Japan. I really have no idea what it means... It works well with the pun in the title, doesn't it :)

Yuri Mania 7

Gokigenyou readers! This week is not a skip week for Yuri Mania even though I haven't been feeling well lately. My cold symptoms started sometime last Sunday, and I wasn't giving it a thought or I could've prevented it... Anyway, enough about me, I'm almost all better now! Time to focus on the girls loving girls genre that is yuri!

Last week I reviewed the anime for Shoujo Sect, after I posted it I found the third episode. I was glad to see it conclude happily... though the anime was just a bit too short to conclude all the loose threads. I mean there were scenes that wasn't in the anime in the promotional video! What's up with that?? Thankfully someone was kind enough to find the manga and I finished that in one night! No wonder I got sick ^^;

The manga and the anime has different scenes, but ends about the same way. I do love the extra epilogue scenes in the manga though. And it doesn't hurt there are more yuri H situtations in the manga... Hekekek.

And finally...

The Melancholy of Saber Lily Part 10

Only one strip this week before I make 4 strips in a row for next 2 weeks. The above is an unused scene... I decided I want Haruhi standing against the wall when Lily has her way with... Umm... you'll see.

The first one is a static image and the second is an animated gif, which I think looks better without the extra Saber face there ^^; ENJOY!

Oppai Mousepads vs Saber Lily vs Haruhi

I blame Danny Choo for making me buy these two mousepads... LOL! He was advertising the Dengeki G's Festival magazine that had the Haruka Nogizaka (from Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu) mousepad. And for some reason I wanted one so bad after reading about it. Unfortunately the magazine wasn't readily available yet at the time I was reading the article... Luckily the Yoko (from Gurren Lagann) mousepad was available for order from Hobby Search. So I took advantage of it ^_^

"Oppai" means bosoms, by the way...

It was quite soft on the wrist and makes it really comfortable... Ah no, I don't really know if it does help or not. I don't see any improvements much... ^^; It's nice to have a wrist-rest at least. Unfortunately that leaves less room for the mouse to move around compared to the original rectangular mouse pad.

Eventually I found that magazine with Haruka Nogizaka mousepad in it. I found it at Iwase Book Store in Richmond, BC. It was quite expensive because they shipped it by airmail and I had to pay the cost for it =_=

Right now I'm using Haruka mousepad for the desktop computer downstairs, which is more frequently used, so it has some wear already. While I'm using the Yoko one for the laptop computer upstairs, which is hardly used. I actually brought the Yoko mousepad to work one day just for laughs... ^^;

I do have another one of these, but that one I won't show for reasons I will not say right now... No, not because it's a nekkid one ok, jeez! Anyway this is just pretense for my next Figma 4-panel comics and to show my friend who wanted to see these mousepads ^_^

The Lunamaria Hawke Shrine

Gundam Seed Destiny may be 5 years old, but Lunamaria Hawke will always be in my heart, as you can see in this above picture... 18 individual Lunamaria figures, and 2 Zakus. The funny part was that I fell in love with her design instantly, yet I haven't seen the show yet at the time! Before I knew it the amount of figures were rivaling to my Ayanami Rei Shrine. The popularity of Gundam Seed Destiny wanes real quick as soon as the new one starts up, so it never reached the Ayanami standard.

By the way, I never cared for the Zakus... until Lunamaria piloted one! That Zaku above is my first Zaku and the one that reawakened my love for building model kits. Lunamaria is definitely a significant character for me.

It all started with one of my favourite Lunamaria figures made by Banpresto as you can see above. The one on the right is also one of my favourites out of all of them, made by Megahouse. Since they're my favourites, there has to be an obligatory panchira shot ^^;


Here are the rest of the big figures. The ones in the back are made by Banpresto, they all have white bases. Only the middle one looks good. The other ones I bought just because they were Lunamaria. Their faces look weird to me now. The ones with the red bases are made by Megahouse. The ones in the left and right were bought used from eBay. They didn't come with the boxes... It was risky, but I got a good deal out of it. Until I realized some of these figures are in the bargain section at Hobby Search. Oh well... too late now.

I also had a huge collection of Gundam Seed Destiny trading figures just because I was looking for Lunamaria in these random boxes... The one in the center of everything is my favourite out of all the trading figures. The ones on the left and right are variations of each other and I got both of them at the same time!

A lot of chibi/super deformed characters were also made out of Lunamaria! And they're just the cutest figures ever!! Cho kawaii!!! The ones on the left is my favourite, but they all look so cute that they're very close seconds -^^-

The final two figures are the Voice I-Dolls that Bandai released. The first one I bought was the normal I-Doll which had crackling voice chip these days... The Voice I-Doll Superior lives up to its name. Great voice quality and 10 voice clips! Unfortunately the figure leans forwards... I have no idea why it does that. I've talked to someone about it and he also had the same problem. I've uploaded a couple of videos so you can listen to them.

The Melancholy of Saber Lily Parts 5 & 6

Gokigenyou minna-san! This week's yuri mania is a continuation of my Saber Lily versus Chouyusha Haruhi series, parts 5 and 6. I'd like to post a yuri anime review, but I got a tad busy this week to post lots of screenshots.

Unfortunately the jokes didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped... It looked funny in my mind, but putting it together I felt like I was struggling to find good lines and jokes that fits. Judge for yourself.



I broke my Kyon figma last time, but I replaced his arm with Koizumi's. Can anyone else guess what other part of Koizumi I used? Ok this one is kinda a stolen joke from Haruhi Suzumiya, but I changed the ending a little bit. ^^


Guest starring: Revoltech Fraulein Rin. I actually like this version of Rin than the figma version. People complained about the face, but I love her face. It looks a bit cuter than the figma one. It's also the return of the Lily panel lol. Again I didn't think this joke worked as well, especially since it's a reference to the Fate/stay night adult computer game, not the anime. This was also a last minute addition. I was just scouring my room for figures I can use and saw Rin and I thought I'd use it.

I feel like doing the "orz" pose for doing these 2 strips. They have "fail" written all over them. But fear not, the next few scripts are better! Til next time... Gokigenyou!

Gokigenyou minna-san. Welcome to a special edition of Yuri Mania involving figures... ok they're not really yuri, but I made them yuri, ok?? Especially since this is Saber Lily we're talking about, you can't go anymore "yuri" than that!

Honestly, I started the Weekly Lily series on DannyChoo.com because I was planning to make these comics ever since I got Saber Lily. I named it after her! I kept it a different title here, because I was sure I wouldn't be able to keep it up at a weekly pace, but yuri is yuri, so without further ado, here is part III of Saber Lily versus Chouyousha Haruhi!

I thought I was going to end it here, but I wanted to make another scene that was similar to that yuri scene from Hidamari Sketch (that I will post in the near future). But my mind and my vision of what my comic will look like changed everything... As you will see I also added Saber Lion to the cast. I hope her incessant "gao gao" doesn't annoy you...

As you can see, Saber Lily still has a potty mouth, but I don't blame her...

Apologies for the bad lighting... I'm really bad at those things. I hope you enjoyed the comics and this session of Yuri Mania. Unfortunately this is all that I've made for these comics, but if I get more ideas then you bet you'll see it here ^_^

Saber Lily VS Chouyusha Haruhi

I used this picture for the Figma contest they had from GoodSmile Company, but I never reached the final 50. A lot of people put more efforts into their shots ^^;

The Melancholy of Saber Lily Parts 1 & 2

Ladies and gentlemen, prepare yourself for a rumble unlike any other! The battle of the Special Edition Figmas that's just been waiting to be made!!

So after more than a month's wait my plans finally came to fruition. I wanted to make this scene so long ago ever since the idea popped in my head when Saber Lily and Fate/Unlimited Codes arrived on my doorstep.

Saber Lily Figma is the first Figma I've ever opened, followed by Chouyusha Haruhi. It's also nice to compare the first ever special edition Figma along with the latest one. I didn't notice much difference except for the hook for Saber Lily that attaches to the stand and goes around her waist instead of the peg penetrating her backside... uh bad choice of words? Haruhi lacked the accessorries compared to Saber Lily, but that's fine since I may just lose some of those small parts anyway heheh ^^;

I was extra careful when I moved Saber Lily and Haruhi around since they were very expensive and precious. I couldn't say the same for the third Figma I've opened. I opened Kyon for the 4-panel comic I made, but I was being too forceful to bend his arms that I snapped it... The picture you'll see later is his left arm barely hanging on to the piece... Yare yare... Anyone got a Kyon (or Koizumi) Figma they're giving away or selling for cheap??

So I set up these scenes at the stairs in the house with a blanket for a background, which suppose to look like a forest scene ^^; It was fun posing them for the scenes, but sure was a hassle. I hope you enjoy the final product.
